Lars Angenent

Lars works in the field of environmental biotechnology with an interest in recovering carbon with open cultures (reactor microbiomes), defined mixed cultures, co-cultures, or pure cultures of microbes.

Troels Skrydstrup

Professor of Organic Chemistry at Aarhus University & CORC PI.

Troels Skrydstrup is currently center leader of the Danish National Research Center, Carbon Dioxide Activation Center (CADIAC). Alongside, he is the co-director of CORC.

His main research field is organic chemistry e.g. within the development of new synthetic methods, transition metal catalyzed carbonylation reactions and capture, storrage and utilization of carbon dioxide.

Michael Kofoed

Project Director & Associate Professor at Aarhus University & CORC PI.

His work addresses one of the big challenges of climate mitigation: how to reduce CO₂ emissions or use CO₂ in ways that are sustainable, economically viable, and scalable.

By using microbes, renewable energy, and integrating capture + conversion, his work has potential to lower the cost and energy intensity of converting CO₂ into fuels (especially methane) or other useful products.

David Madrid Garcia

David helps clients understand more about the most impactful and cost-effective carbon reduction and removal actions they could take.

Prior to joining Carbon Direct, David was the lead research analyst on carbon capture, utilization and storage at BloombergNEF, where he wrote the company’s CCS market outlooks and specific research pieces on direct air capture, CO2-to-fuels and CO2 capture cost drivers.

Dr. Kate Maher

Professor of Earth System Science at Stanford University and a Senior Fellow at the Woods Institute for the Environment.

Her work integrates field data, advanced computational models, and machine learning approaches to advance the sustainable engineering of earth systems, including soil-based carbon dioxide removal, water management, and carbon cycling in soil. 

David Lundbek Egholm

Professor in Geoscience at Aarhus University.

His scientific background is within Earth Sciences, particularly the sciences relating to climate and Earth surface processes. 

In recent years he has specialised in Earth carbon cycle and how our planet via natural processes removes CO2 from the atmosphere and turns it into solid carbonate minerals.

Matteo Pasquali

Hartsook Professor at Rice University & Dexmat & Project CORC PI.

He founded and directs the Carbon Hub, a global partnership of over 20 organizations that develops technologies to produce zero-emission hydrogen and carbon materials for industrial decarbonization.

His research established the foundations for carbon nanotube fibers, including their structure-property relationships, high performance, and scalable manufacturing.
